The Amherst Junior High School cross country teams had many improved times at the Vermilion Obenour Invitational.
Elyse Sixbey dropped nearly a minute from her previous best to place 9th out of 79 runners. Taelyn Nida (14th place), Mia Kothe (17th), and Lillian Tenorio (19th) also earned medals for finishing in the top 20. Lillian Tenorio was the most-improved Comet by dropping more than a minute from her previous best. The girls placed 3rd out of 15 teams.
Isaac Locker (18th place) and Elijah Sturgeon (19th) led the boys, who placed 5th out of 18 teams. On October 6, the Comets will run the Cooley Mile, the first race on the new Richard S. Cooley Track.
