Baseball Beats Avon Lake 3-1

Baseball earned a 3-1 victory over Avon Lake on Wednesday at home, using timely hitting and a complete-game performance from Harrison Schneider to secure the win.

The Comets struck first in the bottom of the 1st inning when Cooper Bingham delivered an RBI single to score Cole Marquez for a 1-0 lead.

After Avon Lake tied the game in the top of the 6th inning, Amherst regained control in the bottom half of the inning. Schneider lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home Bingham and give the Comets a 2-1 advantage. Later in the inning, Eli Toyoda added an RBI double to score Zaiden Rosario and extend the lead to 3-1.
