Baseball delivered a winning performance on Saturday, earning a 14-0 victory over Brunswick in five innings behind a combined no-hitter and a powerful offensive outburst.
On the mound, Brody Glick and Spencer Cain teamed up to keep Brunswick hitless, shutting down the visitors from start to finish.
The Comets wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. Landon Wolf drove in the game’s first run with a single to right, followed by a two-run double from Zach Diedrick. Eli Toyoda added an RBI single later in the frame to give Amherst a quick 4-0 advantage.
Amherst broke the game open in the second inning with back-to-back home runs. Cooper Bingham launched a three-run shot to center field, scoring Cole Marquez and Cole Charles, before Wolf followed with a solo blast to right to make it 8-0.
The offense continued to roll in the third, as Marquez brought home a run on a groundout and Charles added an RBI single. Amherst tacked on four more runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run single from Christian Vorhees, along with two runs scoring on wild pitches.
