Baseball Clinches Share of SWC in Win at Midview

Baseball clinched at least a share of the Southwestern Conference Championship on Tuesday with a 4-0 road win over Midview.

The Comets struck first in the top of the third inning when Cole Charles doubled to score Gavin Ford for a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Landon Wolf delivered a two-run double that brought home Cole Marquez and Charles to extend the advantage to 3-0.

Amherst added an insurance run in the fourth inning when Tyler Denn grounded into a fielder’s choice that scored Zach Diedrick, pushing the lead to 4-0.

Harrison Schneider was dominant on the mound, tossing a complete-game shutout while striking out 12 to earn the win.
