Baseball Picks Up Road Win at Avon

Monday at ForeFront Stadium, Amherst wasted no time taking control, scoring eight runs in the top of the first inning on its way to a 10-0 victory over Avon.
The Comets strung together a series of timely hits to fuel the early surge. Cooper Bingham opened the scoring with an RBI single to bring home Nick Wilkinson. Landon Wolf followed with a two-run single, plating Cole Charles and Bingham to make it 3-0. Tyler Denn delivered next with a two-run single, scoring Wolf and Zach Diedrick. Wilkinson added a two-run single of his own, driving in Toyoda and Denn, before Cole Charles capped the inning with an RBI single to push the lead to 8-0.
Amherst added to its advantage in the fourth inning, as Wolf doubled to score Bingham, and Denn later singled home Wolf to extend the lead to 10-0.
On the mound, Cael Charles was dominant, tossing all five innings while striking out 10 to earn the win.
