Baseball Wins on Senior Night

Baseball celebrated Senior Night Friday evening, earning a 4-3 victory over Normandy. Prior to first pitch, the Comets honored seven seniors and their families: Spencer Cain, Tyler Denn, Brody Glick, Zander Hopkins, Cole Marquez, Harrison Schneider, and Landon Wolf.

Comets jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first inning when Harrison Schneider launched a three-run home run to left field, scoring Cooper Bingham and Braylon Hans to give the Comets a 3-0 advantage.

Normandy answered with three runs in the top of the third inning to even the game, but Amherst quickly responded in the bottom half of the inning. Landon Wolf delivered a sacrifice fly that brought home Bingham with what proved to be the game-winning run.

Zander Hopkins earned the win on the mound, while Brody Glick threw the last 3 innings to pick up the save as Amherst secured the 4-3 Senior Night win.
