Boys Tennis defeats Avon Lake 3-2

Boys Tennis picked up a hard-fought 3-2 road victory over Avon Lake on Thursday, powered by a dominant showing in singles play.

The Comets swept all three singles matches in convincing fashion. At first singles, Katelyn Bussard led the way with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 win over J. Tobin. Marie Schneider followed with a strong 6-1, 6-3 victory against C. Johnson at second singles, while Josh Tomlin completed the sweep with a decisive 6-0, 6-0 win over C. Gills at third singles.

In doubles action, Amherst dropped both matches. The duo of Garry Bott/Carter Crawford fell to Athey/Athey 6-2, 6-4, while Sam Bennett/Carson Truman were defeated by Lustri/Mars 6-4, 6-0.
