Boys Tennis Wins on Senior Night

Boys Tennis celebrated Senior Night on Wednesday prior to its match against Elyria Catholic, honoring five seniors for their contributions to the program: Garet Bott, Carter Crawford, Jeremy Marcaly, Marie Schneider, and Carson Truman.
The Comets followed the celebration with a 4-1 victory over Elyria Catholic to improve to 8-1 on the season.
Amherst swept singles play, led by Katelyn Bussard’s 6-1, 6-1 win at 1st singles. Josh Tomlin added a 6-3, 6-1 victory at 2nd singles, while Isaac Walker earned a 6-1, 6-2 win at 3rd singles.
In doubles play, Marie Schneider and Garet Bott secured a 6-3, 7-5 win at 1st doubles. Elyria Catholic’s lone point came at 2nd doubles, where Carter Crawford and Sam Bennett were edged 4-6, 6-4, 10-5 in a third-set tiebreaker.
