Boys Volleyball Picks Up Road Win at Avon Lake

Boys Volleyball secrued a road victory Tuesday night, defeating Avon Lake in four sets, 3-1. The Comets controlled the match early with set wins of 25-15 and 25-10 before Avon Lake answered in the third set, 25-20. Amherst closed out the victory with a 25-15 win in the fourth set.
Leading the offense for the Comets was Mason Lymer with 11 kills, while Gavin Beckler added 10 kills and Niko Dokovski contributed five kills. Joe Penano paced the attack with 15 assists and Hector Mendez finished with 11 assists.
Defensively, Lymer recorded a team-high 14 digs, followed by Penano with 12 and Nicholas Prozak with seven. In serve receive, Lymer led the way with 20 receptions, Beckler had 10, and both Zach Boesken and Prozak added eight receptions.
At the net, Beckler totaled two block kills, while Evan Thomson, Lucas Scarbrough, and Steven Shattuck each recorded one block kill.
From the service line, Boesken and Lymer each delivered five aces, while Jaxon Yoder added two aces in the win.
