Burich's 300 Game Helps Comet Boys Win Holiday Roll Off

Boys bowling delivered a strong performance Sunday at Park Lanes, capturing the team title at the Amherst Holiday Roll Off with a three-game total of 3,717 pins.
Amherst set the tone early behind a balanced lineup and a dominant showing from Ethan Burich, who led all varsity bowlers with a 787 series. Burich highlighted his day with a perfect 300 game in the opening game of competition. Brady Smith followed with a 724 series, while Trenton Roberts added 634. Garrett Smith contributed 570, and Grant Taylor rounded out the scoring with a 536 series.
In the baker portion of the event, Amherst continued its consistency, rolling games of 229 and 237 for a combined baker total of 466, helping secure the top overall score in the tournament.
The Amherst B Team also posted an impressive showing, finishing with a team total of 3,426 pins. Zaden Watkins paced the B Team with a team-high 746 series, highlighted by a 256 game in the third game. Jayden Stewart added 636, while Jacob Stewart rolled a 621 series. R.J. Aschenbach delivered games of 217 and 162, Will Perris posted games of 191 and 160, and Jadan Beringo chipped in with games of 168 and 182.
The B Team recorded baker games of 157 and 186 for a 343 total, earning a spot opposite the varsity squad in the Boys Championship Match.
Amherst Varsity defeated the Amherst B Team in the championship, completing a sweep of the top two spots in the Holiday Roll Off.
Other teams competing in the event included Fairport Harbor with 3,312 pins, Buckeye at 3,178, St. Edward with 2,745, and Lorain with 2,415, as Amherst closed out the holiday tournament with a statement performance on its home lanes.
