Comet Bowlers Sweep Oberlin on Senior Night at Park Lanes

Comet bowling teams celebrated Senior Night in style on Wednesday at Park Lanes, sweeping Oberlin in a pair of non-league victories.
The Boys posted a dominant 2,591–1,930 win, fueled by strong performances throughout the lineup and a big night from the senior class. Garrett Smith led the way with a 502 series, rolling games of 266 and 236, while fellow senior Grant Taylor added a 479 series with games of 275 and 204. Brady Smith also delivered a consistent showing, finishing with a 464 series after games of 228 and 236.
Senior Zaden Watkins contributed a 383 series with games of 193 and 190, and Ethan Burich opened the match with a solid 384 series, bowling 219 and 165. Amherst capped off the victory by sweeping the Baker games, combining for scores of 221 and 158 to total a 379 series.
On the girls side, Amherst secured a 1,822–1,618 win behind balanced scoring and clutch Baker games. Isabell Mendosa turned in the top series of the night for the Comets with a 349 total, highlighted by games of 178 and 171. Senior Peyton Zakrajsek followed closely with a 341 series after rolling 169 and 172.
The senior bowlers played key roles throughout the match. Sophia Chapman finished with a 292 series, Kiara Taylor added a 298 series, and Haydn Beischlag recorded a 266 series. In the Baker portion, Amherst pulled away with scores of 157 and 119 for a 276 series to seal the Senior Night sweep.
Both Amherst teams closed out the evening by honoring their seniors.
