Girls Bowling Finishes Runner-Up at OHSAA Sectional Tournament

Girls bowling earned a runner-up finish on Sunday at the OHSAA Division I Sectional held at Yorktown Lanes, posting a total score of 3,586 pins.

Amherst turned in the top Baker score of the tournament (1,080), highlighted by an outstanding 245 in the first of six Baker games.

In individual competition, Peyton Zakrajsek led the Comets with a 572 series (208-250-114) to place 5th overall. Kiara Taylor followed with a 543 series (167-161-215), earning 8th place. Isabell Mendosa contributed a 513 series (165-165-183), while So Chapman rolled a 467 series (149-164-154) and Haydn Beischlag added a 411 series (173-123-115).

Next Up: Amherst advances to the OHSAA Division I District Tournament on Monday, February 23rd, at Rebman’s Recreation. Competition begins at 10:00 a.m.
