Girls Cross Country Competes at Mentor Invitational

The Girls Cross Country team ran well at the Mentor Invitational Saturday this Saturday, finishing 7th of 22 teams.

Amherst was lead by Lola Schaaf’s 16th place finish. Lila Woskobunik (29th) Samantha Falbo (43rd), Nyah Jesko (54th), Liana Del Valle (57th), Alaina Alflen (60th), Maddy Merthe (65th), Rosalie Kapalin (72nd), and Aubrey Brenot (81st) all raced well for the Comet Varsity.

The JV Comets placed 3rd at Mentor. Julia Fossie’s 2nd place and Clara Stewart’s 11th place finishes lead the JV. Gemma DelMonico (24th), Grace Naro (25th), Rebecca George (26th), Clara Durica (69th), Mia Cabanetos (43rd), Nora Lauer (46th), Kaitlyn Meyer (52nd), Audrey Ilcisko (76th), CeCe Magers (80th), Leah Ilcisko (92nd), CViolet O’Brien (98th), Mia DelMonico (101st), Macey Johnson (110th), Abbey Barry (114th), Sophia Nicoletti (117th), Reyna McDonald (132nd), Chloe Haun (133rd), Layla Camera (144th), , Katlyn Sauvey (169th), Corrinn Kinser (174th), Ashley Owen (188th), and Maddy Kapalin (196th) finished for the JV Comets Saturday

Runners of the week were Ashley Owen and Mia Cabanetos, who both had big improvements at Mentor.

The Lady Comets compete again next Saturday at the Wooster Invitational.
