Girls Cross Country Competes at Norwalk Invitational

The Amherst Girls Cross Country team raced well at the Norwalk Invitational Saturday, finishing second overall.

The Comets were lead by the second place finish of freshman Lila Woskobunik.   Samantha Falbo (7th) and Liana Del Valle (8th) also placed in the top 10 for the Comets. Rosalie Kapalin (12th), Aubrey Brenot (13th), Lola Schaaf (15th), Maddy Merthe (16th), Julia Fossie (19th place), and Clara Stewart (20th) all had top 20 finishes at Norwalk. Seniors Alaina Alflen (28th) and Nyah Jesko (29th) were next for Amherst,  with Clara Durica (31st),  Gemma DelMonico (35th), Kaitlyn Meyer (36th), Violet O’Brien (42nd), CeCe Magers (44th), Audrey Ilcisko (45th), Nora Lauer (48th), Rebecca George (51st), Mia DelMonico (64th), Leah Ilcisko (65th), Abbey Barry (66th), Chloe Haun (67th), Layla Camera  (73rd), Ashley Owen (88th), and Maddy Kapalin (89th) all racing for the  Comets at Norwalk Saturday.

Runner of the week was Junior Liana DelValle, who ran a lifetime best to finish 8th at Norwalk.

The State Ranked Lady Comets, now with a record of 58-14, compete again in two weeks at the Medina Invitational.
