Conference nights always brings out the best in teams and last night was no different as our Lady Comets traveled to Bagley Rd in Berea and came away with a hard fought 3-1 win over the Berea Midpark Titans.
This contest would feature plenty of physical play as three Comets have to leave the game with injury. Luckily two of the three would be able to continue on as the Titan defense and goalkeeper would throw blankets on every dangerous Comet attack while the Comet defense and Haydn Beischlag would do the same to the Titan attack.  Halftime would come with the score still knotted at 0-0.

The second half would be more of the same with bodies flying all over, fouls and yellow cards aplenty until Sienna Rebman would give Issi McGee a square ball that Issi would cannon in from 25 yards off beating the keeper low and off the post for a 1-0 Comet lead.

Just three minutes later Paige Miller would pickpocket a Titan defender and slalom her way through a couple more Berea defenders to beat the keeper for a 2-0 edge.

With just over 13 minutes left in the match Berea Midpark would break through from close range to signal game on for a riveting final few minutes.

The last minutes saw plenty more physical challenges and chances go waiting until Emelyn Lowery would put one over the Titan defense for Sienna Rebman to run onto and slot past the charging goalie.  The result was a backbreaking 3-1 lead with under a minute to play and the clock would run out on that scoreline.

The defense of Grace Bruewer, Ashley Ciura, Emelyn Lowery, Olivia Janosik and Haley Boyles, along with Haydn Beischlag(3 saves) would be outstanding all night long limiting the Titan attack to only two shots inside the eighteen with most being from distance.

The Comets improve to 4-0 and 1-0 in SWC play.  They return to action Saturday afternoon with a 1pm kickoff at home vs Oregon Clay.
