Amherst Steele (11-4-3) - 8
Eastlake North (6-10-1) - 0

The Amherst Lady Comets hosted a District Semifinal versus the Eastlake North Rangers on a wet and windy evening at Spitzer Stadium and would make short work of the match and come away with an 8-0 victory.

As rain fell in sheets early on the Comets would lay siege to the Eastlake North goal but the Ranger keeper, who was very good despite the scoreline, would be up to the early challenges until Paige Miller would hit one off the keepers hand to a waiting Olivia Janosik at the 34 minute mark for an early 1-0 Comet lead.

The Ranger defense and keeper would again find resolve until another rebound would find Gabrielle Vasquez, who would do it herself for a commanding 2-0 Comet edge.

Soon after, the goals started falling like the early rain as Sienna Rebman would provide for a Paige Miller goal to make it 3-0.  A minute later Issi McGee would play a rocket through the box that would find Alaina Alflen for a 4-0 lead.  Just two minutes later Paige Miller would get her second assist of the night for Sienna Rebman to turn into a 5-0 advantage.  Within sixty seconds, Alaina Alflen would turn provider for Sienna Rebman for a 6 goal lead.

Issi McGee would next go solo to make it a 7 goal edge at the 12 minute mark.  With just four minutes left in the half Issi McGee would turn provider again for Sienna Rebman, who would complete her hat trick and the eight goal cushion.

With the new state rules the game would be over by hafltime at 8-0.

Stout defending would be provided by Grace Bruewer, Ashley Ciura, Emelyn Lowery, Haley Boyles, Mia Heuring and Katie Allegier.

The Comets improve to 11-4-3 and advance to their third straight District Final on Saturday October 25 at 1pm at Rocky River HS against Mayfield.
