Amherst Steele (5-0, 1-0) - 3
Oregon Clay (1-2-2) - 1

The Lady Comets Varsity would host longtime rival Oregon Clay on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and would come away with a hard fought 3-1 victory.

The Comets would have the share of possession and chances but would repeatedly be denied by the Clay goalkeeper and timely defending early on and the Eagles would turn the tables on the Comets as they would draw first blood on a through ball up the middle that would pay off for a 1-0 Clay lead.  Despite more attacks on the Clay goal, Amherst would be unable to find the net and the first half would end with Clay still up 1-0.
Right out of the halftime huddle, Jillian Markowich would make a marauding run and turn the Clay right back and get inside only to lay off to Sienna Rebman for a lightning goal and it would be game on at 1-1.

The Comets would throw wave after wave at the Clay defense and they would be up to each challenge until Isabelle McGee would launch a cross that Paige Miller would lay a thunderous header and snap the back of the net for the first Comet lead of the day at 2-1.

With the game in its waning stages and the Comets looking to kill the game off, Sienna Rebman would rampage from half field all the way to slot it past the keeper for a backbreaking 3-1 lead.  Game, set , match.

Amherst is now 5-0 and 1-0 in SWC play and will travel to the River View Labor Day Showcase in Warsaw, Ohio for a Labor Day match with Columbus Bexley.
