Hockey Completes 3-0 Weekend with 4-1 Win at Olmsted Falls

Hockey skated to a 4–1 road victory over Olmsted Falls on Sunday at the Brooklyn Rec Center, setting the tone early and pulling away with a strong second period.
The Comets opened the scoring in the first period when Fisher Sims scored at the 14:38 mark to give Amherst a 1–0 lead. Amherst added to the advantage in the second period at 11:14 as Noah Cheatham finished a play set up by Maddox Groom.
Later in the period, Amherst converted on the power play when Anthony Palumbo scored with assists from Grady Walsh and Sims, pushing the lead to 3–0 heading into the third.
Olmsted Falls got on the scoreboard in the third period at the 9:32 mark when Joey Eckenrode scored off assists from Reid Carlson and Carsen Kasberg. Amherst answered later in the period as Sims netted his second goal of the game at 6:21 to seal the win.
Anthony Schubert anchored the Amherst defense with 37 saves in goal, while Olmsted Falls goalie Michael Murphy made 33 stops.
The win improved Amherst’s record to 12–8, while Olmsted Falls fell to 6–12 on the season.
