JV Girls Soccer beat Berea-Midpark

The Lady Comets JV squad ventured east to open up SWC play against the host Berea Midpark Titans and return home with a big 9-0 win.

The Comets would lay siege to the Titan goal and make repeated runs but the Berea keeper and backline continued to hold until the 21 minute mark when Aili Magdaleno would play in Cici Defilippo would break the deadlock. Just six minutes later Clara Miller would play a delightful through ball that Sophie Hoffman would deposit into the net for a 2-0 lead. Just a minute later Peityn Yandura would hit the net off a corner kick for a 3-0 advantage.

The next two goals would come from Sofia Piwinski with assists to Cici Defilippo and Olivia Ford and the halftime scoreline would be 5-0.

The second half began much as the first with Clara Miller finding the net from Sofia Piwinski at the 31 minute mark. Cici Defilippo would continue her big day with a brace as she was played in by Kinley Johnson for a 7-0 cushion.

Sofia Piwinski would get a hat trick with twelve minutes to go on a solo run and Abby Weidner would close the scoring at the eight minute mark to put the Comets up 9-0.

The junior Comets are now 4-0 and 1-0 in SWC play and return to action Saturday morning at home at 11am vs the visiting Oregon Clay Eagles.
