JV Girls Soccer defeats Westlake

The Lady Comets JV squad played an early Saturday morning match at Westlake and came away with a resounding 9-0 win.

The hit parade would get going early and often as Cici Defilippo would get played in by Sofia Piwinski five minutes in for an early 1-0 lead. Just a minute later, Cici Defilippo would play in Abby Weidner and she would hit a banger from the left side for a 2-0 lead. Four minutes later Kinley Johnson would play in Sofia Piwinski for her first goal of the match and a 3-0 lead.

The next two Comet goals would come via the foot of Mia Heuring as she hit two powerful goals from distance to balloon the lead to 5-0. With just under a minute left in the half Sofia Piwinski would get her brace courtesy of another Kinley Johnson assist and a 6-0 lead at the half.

The second half would barely be under way when Abby Weidner went solo and blasted in her brace to make it 7-0. Kinley Johnson would get on the scoreboard next courtesy of an Alex Sixbey assist and Cici Defilippo would get a brace of her own from a Mia Heuring assist to get to the final score of 9-0. Alex Sixbey and Brynlee Angney would go the distance in goal for the Comets.

The junior Lady Comets improve to 3-0 on the young season and open up SWC play next Wednesday at Berea Midpark.
