Amherst opened the Pioneer Hockey Classic in dominant fashion on Friday night, blanking Kent Roosevelt 10-0 at Chiller North. The Comets erupted for five goals in the first period and never looked back. Fisher Sims scored four goals to lead Amherst, while Vinny Kelley added a hat trick. Noah Riley, Noah Cheatham, and Maddox Groom also found the back of the net. Amherst added four goals in the second period and capped the scoring with a shorthanded goal in the third in a complete team performance.

Olentangy Berlin 2, Amherst 1 (OT)
Saturday Afternoon | Chiller North
In their second game of the evening, Amherst battled Olentangy Berlin in a tightly contested matchup. After two scoreless periods, Berlin struck first on a power-play goal in the third. Deakin Kelley answered for the Comets at the 10:04 mark of the third period to force overtime. Berlin scored in the extra session to escape with the win, handing Amherst its only loss of the tournament.

Saturday Evening | Ice Works
Amherst rebounded Saturday evening at Ice Works with a 4-2 victory over Dayton Stealth. Mason Lamoreaux and Sebastian Smith scored in the first period to give the Comets early momentum. Fisher Sims extended the lead in the second period before Dayton cut into the deficit late in the frame. Kylan Losiewicz scored early in the third period, and Amherst held on down the stretch to secure the win.

Sunday Afternoon | Ice Works
The Comets closed the weekend with a 4-2 win over Elyria Catholic on Sunday afternoon at Ice Works. Fisher Sims led the way with a hat trick, scoring once in the first period and twice in the second. Kylan Losiewicz added a first-period goal as Amherst built a 4-1 advantage. Elyria Catholic scored in the third period, but the Comets maintained control to finish the tournament with a 3-1 record.
