Shuster Strikes out 18 in Win over Keystone

Softball rolled to an 11-0 shutout victory over Keystone on Monday behind a dominant performance from Karina Shuster in the circle. Shuster struck out 18 batters while allowing just one hit over seven innings.
The Comets wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. Briana Blankenship scored on a passed ball before Shuster delivered an RBI single that brought home Sienna Rebman and Makenna Dorobek to make it 3-0. Kayla Rhodes followed with an RBI double scoring Shuster, and Gloria Caserta added an RBI single to plate Morgan Lymer as Amherst built a 5-0 lead.
Amherst added to the advantage in the fifth inning when Rebman singled home Lexi Fenton. Dorobek then doubled to score Blankenship and Rebman, extending the lead to 8-0.
Dorobek capped off the scoring in the seventh inning with a three-run home run that scored Fenton and Blankenship.
