Softball Falls to James Madison to Close Grand Strand Classic

Softball wrapped up play at the Grand Strand Softball Classic on Thursday with a 3-0 loss to James Madison High School (VA), finishing the event with a strong 3-1 record.

The Comets collected three hits on the day. Briana Blankenship led the way with a triple, while Makenna Dorobek and Leah Sprague each added a hit.

In the circle, Karina Shuster recorded five strikeouts while keeping Amherst within striking distance throughout the contest.

Amherst returns home on Saturday to host Berea-Midpark, with first pitch scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
