Softball Picks Up SWC Road Win at Elyria

Softball rolled to a dominant 10-0 shutout victory over Elyria on Friday at the Ely Stadium Complex.
Karina Shuster was outstanding in the circle, earning the win with a 16-strikeout performance in a six-inning complete game.
The Comets set the tone early, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning. They added single runs in both the third and fifth innings before breaking the game open with a six-run sixth inning to secure the run-rule victory.
Offensively, Sienna Rebman led the way, going 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Lexi Fenton went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while Makenna Dorobek added an RBI and a run. Leah Sprague finished 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
Shuster also contributed at the plate, going 1-for-1 with three walks, an RBI, and three runs scored. Briana Blankenship drove in two runs, and Morgan Lymer added a triple to round out the Comets’ extra-base hit production.
