Swimming Finishes Season Strong at the District Meet

Comets Swimmers wrapped up their season on Saturday at the OHSAA Division I District Swimming meet held at Bowling Green State University.

On the girls side, the 200 Medley Relay team of Sophie Millard, Erin Reitzel, Bridget Sonntag, and Abbey McConihe placed 18th, while the same quartet finished 15th in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Individually, Sonntag took 26th in the 50 Freestyle and 20th in the 500 Freestyle, and Millard placed 32nd in the 100 Butterfly.

The boys delivered strong performances, highlighted by Colin Reitzel’s 8th-place finish in the 50 Freestyle and 10th place in the 100 Freestyle. The 200 Medley Relay team of Reitzel, Ethan Fantozz, Declan Mackowski, and Reed Homolya finished 16th, with the same group placing 19th in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Mackowski added a 20th-place finish in the 100 Butterfly and 21st in the 100 Breaststroke. Fantozz placed 23rd in the 100 Breaststroke and earned a 12th-place finish in the 500 Freestyle.
