Swimming Has Senior Night Meet vs Avon

Swimming honored its seniors prior to Tuesday night’s home swim meet against Avon, recognizing Diana Bacety, Sophie Millard, and Colin Reitzel for their contributions to the program.
Despite falling to the Eagles, the Comets turned in several strong performances. Bridget Sonntag led the girls with a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle and added a second-place effort in the 500 freestyle. Abbey McConihe captured first place in the 100 breaststroke, while the girls 200 medley relay team of Sophie Millard, Erin Reitzel, Bridget Sonntag, and McConihe finished second. Amherst also placed second in the girls 200 freestyle relay with McConihe, Reitzel, Millard, and Sonntag, and Millard added a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke.
On the boys side, senior Colin Reitzel highlighted Senior Night by winning both the 50 and 100 freestyle events. Ethan Fantozz placed second in both the 200 and 500 freestyle, while Declan Mackowski finished second in the 200 individual medley. The boys 400 freestyle relay team of Fantozz, Reitzel, Reed Homolya, and Mackowski also earned a second-place finish.
