Swimming Splits Meet with Olmsted Falls

Swimming competed against Olmsted Falls on Tuesday night, with the Comet girls earning an 85–57 victory while the boys dropped a close 68–60 decision.

The Girls were led by multiple individual wins. Erin Reitzel captured first place in the 200 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke, while Abbey McConihe won the 200 IM and 100 Freestyle. Bridget Sonntag took top honors in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke, and Sophie Millard won the 100 Butterfly. The Comets also swept relay action, winning the 200 Free Relay with Abbey McConihe, Erin Reitzel, Sophie Millard, and Marie Schneider, and the 400 Free Relay with Bridget Sonntag, Abbey McConihe, Ava Cisar, and Diana Bacety.

On the boys side, Amherst picked up several event wins despite the narrow loss. Colin Reitzel won the 200 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly, while Declan Mackowski took first in the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke. Reed Homolya earned victories in the 50 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle. The Comets also won the 200 Free Relay behind Peyton Dury, Declan Mackowski, Reed Homolya, and Colin Reitzel.
