Wrestling delivered a complete performance Saturday to win the Maple Heights Holiday Tournament at Maple Heights High School, finishing atop the team standings behind a deep and balanced lineup. The Comets consistently scored points in every weight class, producing multiple finalists and podium finishes to separate themselves from the field.
Amherst crowned five individual champions, led by Jax Percival at 106 pounds and Devin Juristy at 120. Canin Fritz captured the title at 138 pounds, while Mathew Vidovich earned the championship at 144. Heavyweight Javiaun Bush closed the tournament with a championship performance at 285 pounds.
Four Comets finished as runners-up, including Chase Chandler at 126 pounds, Ali Younes at 165, Isaac Vasquez at 175, and Landon Reott at 190. Additional scoring came from third-place finishes by Aidan Sacharski at 113, Cristian Nieves at 132, Carter Crawford at 150, and Gabe Shumney at 157.
